OK the sales pitch sounds good but is the autopot/easy 2 grow systems that good?
I purchased a basic system 47tlr tank and twin 8.5ltr pots and a single pot 15 ltr pot extension in August 08. I tried growing some peas they grew well but to late to flower. The system has sat outside all winter.

Gave the system a good wash. Being carefull to remove all the dried salts from inside the water tank and made sure the aqua values sill worked correctly.
The system was then installed in my greenhouse, which is getting full.
The tank ws filled with water, the aqua values worked.
I haven’t planted anything yet, but aim considering filling the pots with Mel’s mix and growing:
- 1 small tub of Tomato Roma VF
- 1 small tub of Tomato money maker
- 1 large tub of Cucumber Money Market
This will give a comparison with hydroponic system. I will be using the same nutrients as the hydroponic system, however my consider moving to Bokashi Tea as it will be considerably cheaper.

Filled pots with compost mix, added three tomato plants per small tub and 2 cumbers in large pot. Add nutrients to tank. The EC is 21 and PH 7.2 both hi. I have ordered some PH Down but hasn’t arrived yet.
Using PH Down is cheaper than using hardwater nutrients to reduce PH further.

Reduce PH last week and the plants are doing well. They seem to be doing better than the plants in my hydroponic system. The plants may undergo a “shock” when transferred to hydropinc system when the “soil” is removed from roots were as with the autopot system the whole root ball complete with soil is simply planted in the pot and watered.
